I am adding to previous comments.... An ancient habit to see and capture in sculpture or painting such blissful innocence in sleeping babies.
One in the NYT Art Section, 12-30-11, is a sculpture of "young Eros" from the 3rd century B.C. to the early 1st century A.D. LOVELY, look it up yourselves.
