Did I mention hospital food sucks?

Look at that baby up there. A tummy full of formula, no doubt. It was one of many pictures that was taken while I was gone last week. For those of you not aware, I went to see the doctor last Tuesday for a pain in my back. I though I had pulled a muscle. He said it was pleurisy. He ordered a chest x-ray. By the end of the evening, I was admitted to the hospital for multiple blood clots, including the special ones in my lungs that were so special they get to be called pulmonary embolisms.

So, I got to hang in the hospital for five nights. It turns out it was a pretty good plan for losing most of the baby weight. While I was in the hospital, pumping breast milk non-stop, Emerson was happily enjoying bottle after bottle of formula. We've put a stop to that nasty habit now that I'm home.

So, I'm back. Please forgive me for not commenting, or even lurking as often as usual. But if I'm suddenly well enough to spend my days on the computer, Rich might think I'm well enough to do dishes. Gasp!!

Glad you're okay, and glad you're back. Best wishes for feeling better and not showing it too much. By the way, next time you get a sick-thing that sounds like it's from 1884, let's go with something a little more colorful. Maybe Dropsy, or The Vapors, or Milkmaid Knee, or Rickets.

(and Michelle D-P said too) Welcome home! Bet Greely and Atley are thrilled!! Not to mention the men and boys. So it was hospital food for Mom and formula for the babe. You were both getting a pretty short deal we would guess. Keep getting weller and weller.

Boy, we're sorry, Mom spelled those names wrong! We always have to keep an eye on her spelling!

I'm happy you're doing fine and got to "diet." Nothing's worse that having the baby and some stranger asks you when you're due like a week after birth.

I love that outfit!! Snuggle that baby! And get your brother to return to fill the dishwasher weekly. If I was closer I would do it for ya!

First off, BEAUTIFUL baby boy!

Second...OH MY GOD, that's so dangerous with the clots! I'm glad you're alright now. And how odd, I've heard so many people getting pleurisy lately. SO many!

Oh my gosh! I didn't know!! And what IS pleurisy, anyway? It reminds me of that play, The Glass Menagerie...

Or was that Pleurosis? "Blue Roses." Can't remember.

Glad you're better! And he is SO DANG CUTE!
