Under the Category of Things I Never Thought I'd Do As a Parent

When I worked at the Mirror Lake Inn, I remember wondering what sort of parent paid for their 10 year old to receive a pedicure. What madness is this? Then I moved to Southern Pennsylvania and before you know it, this happens:

For the first day of school (which is Thursday for her) she had her feet soaked, scrubbed, clipped, massaged and polished.

Her absolute delight in the entire experience has taught me why parents give their kids pedicures.

For the record, we went to the Gettysburg Day Spa. We had a wonderful experience there. They did not pay for this promotion, but if they want to kick me down a gift certificate for a couples' pedicure, Rich and I will gladly write a rave joint review.

She looks very pleased and that makes all the difference . I hope you got to treat yourself while you were there!! How is everything going? We had our anatomy U/S on Monday but they couldn't see what little squirt is or measure all of his/her parts so I get to return September 15th. Hope school starts off wonderfully and Shea and Atlee both get wonderful teachers this year!

Well, now you've done it. You're a Middle America Suburbanite Queen now! LOL You have to at least promise to have a moose-dung facial when you're up in the Adks next to maintain your status as a Woodswoman.

I am wondering what else would fall under this category.

Atlee looks so happy with her new and improved piggies! I can't believe she's starting school already!

Nah. These are cute feet. If they were yours, then I might have ignored it. I think I read 2 posts in 1 day and commented on the other one...

:) Enjoy the movie!

Oh, what pretty feet! Be glad you're in Gettysburg where you can still wear sandals. Here in Michigan, it's gotten downright cool. I guess that makes it less jarring to head back to school...

Here's to a wonderful new year at school for both Shae and Atlee!

If you need a babysitter for that couples pedicure...if you get it....well you know.
What a nice time for you and Atlee.

She looks thrilled! What fun.

Thanks for your comment on my post. I appreciated your perspective on the whole "at-home or not" debate.

I also have to say that I'm digging your choice in reading material. The Ken Follet books are among my all-time favorites and I'm a Philippa Gregory devotee. Have you ever tried any Diana Gabaldon? Her Outlander series is amazing.
