Where I Crawl Out From Under the Rock I've Been Living Under.

The above picture has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with anything we've done in the last week. My camera was not handy while I was dwelling under a rock.

This last weekend we had friends from New York come to visit for an evening. Jen and Dan have three kids, Rael and Conner (or is it Connor?)- who are twins about a year older than Shea, and Gavin who is about a year older than Atlee. We had beautiful weather for their visit, and all the kids had a lot of fun. I think the most fun award has to go to Gavin and Atlee. A few hours into the visit they discovered they both loved mud and mud puddles. How fortunate that our lake had transformed into some sort of mud pit that a mammoth could have been stranded in. I really wish I had pictures of the two of them playing in the mud. Or the two of them being hosed off before dinner.

The other big news around these here parts is that the Mountain House is under contract. If you said a prayer, or thought good thoughts, or sacrificed a chicken- thank you. Please continue whatever you were doing until we close in June.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to crawl back under my rock. It's actually pretty cozy under there.

Mine hasn't discovered the beauty of mud, yet. He does enjoy tossing rocks into water.

Enjoy your rock.

Did you get a spankin-new microwave yet?

Oh, what terrific news! The mountian house will soon be sold, I'm so pleased for you guys. All the hard work will pay off and it just goes to show that even in a down economy things slow down, they don't stop. Well... unless you're in Detroit.

Fingers crossed on a smooth closing!

Oh, and having all those kids about, playing in the mud and enjoying the arrival of summer, well, that sounded like fun too! I'm sorry the proceedings weren't captured on film (or, should I say, digitally) but I can imagine it well...

I remember Rael and Connor from the wedding. I felt horrible because Connor said his brother's name about twenty times and we were still like "Rail? That can't be right." And, of course, we thought they were beautiful little girls. Oops. :)

You're welcome on all of the good thoughts for your mountain house. I will expect my referral check in 30 days...

Hurrah for the sale of the mountain house!

What will Rich do with his copious spare time now?

Mud and kids are such a nice combo. In fact, I think we'd all be better off if we adults played in the mud more. Speaking of being under a rock - Sorry I haven't been able to check in as much with getting ready for the move!

Sacrificed a chicken. I hope I didn't wake anyone up when I laughed out loud! :)
