The New Normal.

Let's hear it for brothers-in-law! Michael showed up last week to help around here...and take pictures! Because I haven't been taking pictures. Or doing dishes. Or cooking. Or even showering. Mostly I nurse a baby. And sometimes, to mix it up, I wipe butts.

This is poor Greeley- she's no doubt waiting for something. Something to eat. A sippy cup of juice. A book. Someone to get her on PBSkids.org. Waiting for something.

Luckily, she has an Uncle Michael- who can do all that stuff! So, thank you, Michael! Thank you for loading the dishwasher and climbing like a baby jaguar with Greeley and Diego and holding Emerson so that I can eat, pee or even shower. Thank you!

***This post was typed entirely with only my left hand because I was- want to guess?- nursing a baby...

Ohhh... but she's worth it. How's Greeley handling the new position in the family line-up?

Congratulations Riordans!!! Dan and I were thinking that the newest bundle should have arrived about now. How sweet and cuddly he looks.

I guess the labor for the fourth child should be as quick as that! Wow, 11 minutes and that includes transport time to your lovely hospital room too?!! :)

Your brother recommended coming over to wish you a speedy recovery. He & Monica used to be my neighbors, and they always seem to have good ideas.

I have 3 boys. I am working my way out of diapers and hoping not to return until someone produces a grandchild hopefully 25+ years from now.

Congrats on the baby. Hope your better soon. Wishing you lots of rest and a speedy recovery.

We hear that you are in the hospital again! A woman's work is never done! Now you have to get busy getting healed! But with all of our good wishes and prayers, you'll manage that just spendidly. Hearts reach out to you from MoTown.

Susan,

I've got my fingers and toes crossed that you'll be home soon and on your way to recovery.

I let mom know, but I figured that I'd put this here as well, give me a call as soon as your out. Anticoagulation is one of the areas where I have a lot of clinical experience. I should be able to help you out.

Lots of love!!!
Michael

Thinking of you, Susan, and hoping you have good things to read as you rest and let your body do its thing, mend and heal.

Feel better, Susie! Sounds like you are having a rough time... Maybe the silver lining is that you can get a full nights rest?!?!?! I hope you aren't too sick for that! Feel better soon! We are thinking of you and Emerson!

(and Michelle said too) We are thinking of you and sending healing energy from Paris. Given the time difference that should mean thoughts for you coming thru almost all day AND all night. Do get well soon, the rest of the Paret-Darnays are looking forward to meeting you and your clan some day in the near future.

Just adding in a few get-well comments that I picked up in assorted places.

Here are some from Facebook:

Karin Nason
Get well soon.

Krista Magee Morehouse
Get better soon!

Harry Spahn
Get well soon.

Jon C. Hopwood
Be very positive in your thoughts. Thoughts have this uncanny ability of manifesting themselves in our material lives. Why did it take me until the age of 50 to learn about the power of positive thinking? I'm just glad I did. Godspeed and goodhealth to you! You have a wonderful brother and think about next summer, a trip with him on that thing he calls a "houseboat"! That should be good for many smiles.

BOOO!!

I hope she is okay - but, did they check to see if she was faking it? She does deserve a vacation now and again! JK - I really hope she's ok and everyone, including the men and even the house, survives this. My thoughts.

Susan, I hope a shot of Warfarin now and then does for you what it does for me daily: keeps my blood appropriately uncoagulated and freely flowing.

Seriously, I hope you are on your way to full recovery as I write this. That sweet, little boy and his two sweet sisters, perhaps even the men in your house, are probably waiting impatiently to have you home again.
The very best to all six of you.

Love,
Brigitte and Arsen
