And yet, no picture of the boat.

Be thankful there are any pictures. I was knocked-out sick on Tuesday, and Rich got a hold of my camera. There was a knife involved. My camera made it through all right, but I decided I'd better change the batteries before he tried to replace them on his own again.

And then I told him that I thought I heard someone nosing around out by his boat and that distracted him for a few hours.

So, after I put the new batteries in the camera, I could take a look and see what pictures were snapped in the last few months. There were six. These five and an unflattering shot of Wilson.

First picture: Greeley smacking around a bunch of balloons with a broom stick. Mom said she's noticed that the pictures on my wall are always crooked. She's right.

Second picture: After we pulled down the crepe paper streamers from Atlee's surprise party, I wanted to share with all of you how I felt that Strawberry Shortcake and her gang had t.p.'d my living room.

Third picture: Atlee celebrated potato day at her school. That's what they called St. Patrick's Day. Each student had to bring in a potato and they measured and charted and did all manner of things scientific. We sent cupcakes for the green-taste testing portion of the day.

Fourth picture: Rich's fancy pants dinner prepared the night I was sick.

It did look pretty fancy pants.

Fifth picture: A new feature here at Gettysburg Family...

"What did Emerson destroy this week? "

This week was the crock pot. Although second place so far goes to him dumping a half a gallon of milk all over the dining room floor. Amateur mistake. I really and truly can't believe I actually left the milk down. Not like that matters. Since he can open doors. Any and all doors.

I think I just got called out on Facebook.

Judi mentioned maybe I wasn't blogging anymore on Facebook. Combined with Uncle Michael's demand for a new post, it seemed time. Although I have to type all of this with my left hand because of my maimed right hand. It's a good thing I'm not a righty. Oh, wait- I am. Well, at least I don't have cause to wash my hands ninety million times a day. Oh wait- I do. So, aside from my new love of Vaseline, what else is going on?

Bacon.

Only Greeley could look grumpy while eating bacon.

And ice cream push pops. Look! I added another kid! Just kidding. It's Greeley's BFF Petey.

My house looks almost presentable up there. Let's change the angle, shall we?

Closer to the truth there.

What else? Miss Atlee had a birthday a while ago- so we sent cupcakes to school. Cupcakes with Peeps!

And then just a random shot of Greeley eating a bag of frosting. With green kitty whiskers.

Now excuse me while I go cuddle with my jar of Vaseline.

Shiny Fire.

So, I was looking for something to post that is just a cute baby kind of thing... but I don't seem to have any photos transferred off of the camera yet. Then I found this.

And half way through? You get to see the dog that I never, ever, ever thought I would miss after she left...and yet, do. Which is why she'll be back in May when Mom and Dad head off to the Canadian Rockies. On a related note, I'm sorry I didn't keep you all updated that they left the country again. Bad Blogger.

Planned Parenthood.

You know what?

Kids are a lot of stinking work.

This one?

Yeah. He's damn cute, but he's also a lot of work.

Yeah, her too. Not as much, but work.

Him too. Well, not as much work as he costs a lot to keep in video games.

That one up there? She's definitely a lot of work.

But this isn't a post about how important it is to me that I got to choose to have my children and all the work that raising them entails. It's a post instead about how Planned Parenthood is important to me. It is very important to me as a thirty (ahem, -ish) year old woman with NO health insurance. While my mother has advised me that if possible I should just skip the whole cancer experience- and that is certainly my goal- access to doctors for my girl parts seems like a good thing.

And I really hope Planned Parenthood is around when my children are older- both my sons and my daughters. Even if they don't feel comfortable speaking with me about sex and contraception (which, of course, I hope they are)- I hope there is a place like Planned Parenthood for them to go for information and birth control.

And so, I ask you... have you signed yet? Have you written your senator yet?

"Did you hear? The House voted to bar Planned Parenthood from federal funding. They cut funding for HIV tests, cancer screenings, birth control, and more, putting millions of women and families at risk. It's time for you and me to stand with Planned Parenthood. Sign the open letter to the reps who voted for this bill — and to the senators who still have a chance to stop it.

Reason #608 my husband rocks as a father.

#608:
Because he decides to have a condiment tasting session with our kids. (Sans Shea.)

You know, to taste all of the condiments that are in the refrigerator. Or things that might be considered sometimes, maybe, rarely, never as a condiment.

With scrambled eggs as the ... subject? Dippee? Tasting medium?

I'm not sure of the right word.

And he wouldn't tell them what was what until after they tried it.

Emerson was not a fan of the hot peppers.

Atlee either.

A veritable palette of choices.

Atlee is maybe asking Rich who would ever want to use raspberry jam on eggs? It's crazy! It's just so gross.

And now we know -thanks to Rich- that Greeley totally would.

Like a Hurricane.

I'm sorry I'm not around much lately. I had a baby boy.

The last two children were girl children. Girl children are different than boys. Oh, they're destructive in the toddler years, but it's a different type of destructive. It's more subtle.

There's nothing subtle about Emerson.

I always like to offer up a few scavenger hunt features on videos, so be sure to look for:

-empty beer bottles on dirty counters, because I'm classy like that

-the oven light that is ALWAYS on these days

- the discarded carrot lying on the floor

-the sprinkling of dog food that is again ALWAYS around

Let me know what your favorite thing is! Is it the barbecue tool in the dining room or the sink so full of dishes you can't see the sink?
